Installation of a Tree Supporty System in Hong Kong

Trees are constantly growing under the influence of countless internal and external factors. As trees mature, structural issues such as heavy limbs and weak branch attachments can emerge, posing risk to people and property.

ATP’s certified arborists can identify structural weaknesses in a tree and determine the appropriate cabling, bracing or bolting options to address issues before they cause damage. This service is especially valuable in areas prone to typhoons or strong storms.

Static support systems
If a main stem has already begun to split, static support systems using seven-strand galvanized steel cable is most often the best choice. The steel cable does not allow for movement that would exacerbate the existing split, which is why it is known as a static system.

For more extreme cases involving splits of heavier tree sections, cabling can be used in conjunction with bolts or braces to provide maximum support.

Dynamic support systems
In situations in which a tree section has not split but is likely to do so, dynamic support systems that allow movement and continued development of a tree’s strength and resilience are recommended.

ATP uses the Cobra® dynamic tree support system to minimize splitting hazards as well as impact tree growth. Using Cobra protects against excessive wind movement while allowing for tree growth without the constriction or need to drill holes that is associated with static support systems.
